Welcome to the brand-spanking, new and improved ThinkPads.com homepage! We’ve been working assiduously (word of the day) to bring ourselves to the forefront of the latest and greatest laptops developed by IBM/Lenovo. For many years, we’ve provided a mirror of hardware maintenance manuals for discontinued models, support drivers, and an amazing support community that has served to complement Lenovo’s official website. Today, we launch a stunning homepage designed for business owners, students, gamers, and enthusiasts alike.
What to Expect at Our Main Site
Instead of a bland page (which served it’s purpose well for many years), you can expect to find all our normal links, along with news, reviews, and tips for IBM/Lenovo ThinkPad laptop enthusiasts. While we obviously don’t have much content available at launch, we’re busy pecking away on our “Lapnova” keyboards. We’re scouring the web and meticulously reviewing our own equipment to write guides and tutorials that will help make it easier to reach new users that may be unfamiliar with what our community has to offer.
In addition to our articles, we’re going to weave recent community forum topics into the homepage, so that we can remain as cohesive a community as possible. Your forum accounts are, however, not integrated automatically with this part of our website, so you’ll simply have to drop your name and email address when commenting so that we know who you are. We considered bridging WordPress and phpBB, but it was decided that this would make maintaining the website more difficult in the long term.
Our Support Community is Flourishing
Our homepage will hopefully complement the plethora of invaluable information posted on our support community. We have over a hundred FAQ/How-to’s that have been posted since 2004, operating system discussions, classic and modern ThinkPad talk, a colorful off-topic forum, and a bustling member’s only marketplace just full of great deals. If you’ve never taken a stroll through our community, now is a great time! Are you a lurker? Come introduce yourself and post some pictures of your rig! We look forward to meeting you, see you there!
Would You Like to Write For Us?
Are you interested in writing for our website? Reach out to our team using our contact form, or send Bill Morrow a message on our forum. Ideal candidates would have a positive history as a member of our vibrant community, though we’d be happy to consider all newcomers with appropriate credentials and vetting.
Leave Feedback in the Comments
We’d love to hear your thoughts, comments, and even criticisms below. We hope that our comment section under each post becomes as vibrant as our forum community. Our posts are going to show just one editor’s opinion about many of the topics we present, so getting ripped apart or by adding your opinion, we can provide a much better resource for our readers. Looking forward to hearing from you!
