Harddrive x60
I would like to ask whether x60 has a different kind of HDD. I talked to one of the school's technician and they claim that to backup data from my old hard drive, they have to get a new connector, since x60 is really new. Is that true? How is x60's harddrifve different from other HDDs?

hard drive
I already tried using the PE cd and it won't boot from it. I called Lenovo and they have agreed to ship out a new hard drive to me. However, I am just concerned whether my data from my old hard drive will be retrievable. Are there two slots in the x60 for the two harddrives to be slotted in? Thanks.

Dropped laptop with sleeve
I accidentally dropped my laptop to the floor (luckily my laptop sleeve was there)..and the laptop has worked fine afterwards. I was wondering if there are any tests out there to make sure that my laptop is functioning optimally.
Thanks.
Thanks.

battery question
I just got my x60 and let me say, it's awesome.
I have a stupid question about charging the battery. If the battery is at 100%, do I need to unplug it from the charger? Would I "kill" the battery if I recharge it when it's at 70% (arbitrary number)?

ultrabay devices - cd rw/dvd for x60/s
If I add an ultrabay device i.e. the cdrw/dvd rom. to the computer, is that internal? Would I add weight to the notebook? Or, should I just get an external ThinkPlus USB 2.0 CD-RW/DVD-ROM Combo II Drive? thanks!

x60 v. x60s: How much more heat are we talking about?
Everyone keeps saying x60 is going to emit more heat than x60s since it runs on a higher voltage. How much more heat?

None = w/ Atheros card. B/c then its not a official Intel Centrino Core Duo. But only Core duo :) Anyway, thats how I see it, could be wrong... :) So, what does that mean then? Not official? I'm now basically just deciding whether i should get the intel card (official intel centrino core duo) or th...

4.) Not quite sure what you are referring to with those
HTH :)[/quote]
Platform technology
two options: 1) Intel Centrino Duo 2) None
Any differences? What would be the problem if I pick the latter.

What should I get? Questions about specs. Help needed!
Since I am going back to grad school and have school discount buying from Lenovo, Lenovo offers a whole list of x60 and x60s and I have no idea which model I should get. Here are a few questions I hope others can help me out with 1) What is the difference between x60 and x60s? It seems that from the...

What should I get? weight v. battery
I want to get either the 17044DU (4 cell battery, but only 3 pounds) Or 17023LU (8 cell battery, but 3.5 pounds) For both, I'm gonna purchase an extra 8 cell battery which I believe coule be inserted at the back of the battery. Graphics card
I just purchased the Dell flat panel monitor and according to Dell, for optimal performance, I need a graphics card that can support WSXGA+ resolution (1680 x 1050)
Do the x60/x60s support these graphics card? Thanks.
