CPU throttling issue?
Hi, I'm facing CPU throttling for a while now, I doubt it is temperature related and I've tried adjusting windows 10 settings to no avail. The CPU is sitting mostly at 63/65°, around 1.3 & 1.6ghz, plugged to the power supply, even when the laptop is churning stuff, such as compiling code, etc. It ca...

Re: intel 665p nvme drive?
dr_st, Brad, thanks for your replies. In the end, it seems the error was due to flimsy seating in the small caddy, despite the original drive never gave me that error, it took me a lot of trials to eventually get the new drive working. By a strange turn of events, the original drive got a boot issue...

intel 665p nvme drive?
I've got a intel 665p drive for my T25, but I'm unable to get it detected, and before I tweaked some bios settings to enable legacy USB boot for my install medium, it shown "error 20xx" about main drive error. The drive is new so I doubt it has a problem and think it is related to the thinkpad itsel...

Re: fake softrim trackpoint caps?
So I ordered a set on Lenovo website, they are as small as the others I got on ebay and amazon, although they feel softer. The old one I have is from t40 era so it might have been expanded due to long use, I hope the new ones I got will also adjust similarly.

my w520 hinges are too tight
Hi, I finally got my w520, a very nice & maxed out machine which runs quiet and fast. I have two small issues though, first is the main trackpoint buttons are very mushy which I know how to fix (change the keyboard, is there anything else I can do?) but the other problem is that the hinges are too t...

fake softrim trackpoint caps?
I'm looking for softrim trackpoint caps, I bought a set on amazon and another one on ebay, they both look significantly smaller than the old ones I have. Is it because they tend to flatten / expand with usage or that they are actually not genuine parts on the marketplace? Anyone has found a reliable...

Re: W520 pcie M2 port and recent intel SSD?
Thanks Ajkula, I think I'll get a intel 730 (I use one with my T420s), I'm somehow leaning toward intel wrt. SSD drives and thanks for the notice about TLC which I wasn't aware of.
