Please let us know what IBM says, if anything. If you get your TP back and it suddenly works, let us know what BIOS and EC versions are there.

Of course, if they suddenly ship you a T42 by accident, let us know as well. My T40 could go in tomorrow if it was replaced by a T42.

I ended up purchasing a Cardbus USB 2.0 adapter. That seems to work fine.

I am fairly certain that these issues are related to IBM's Firmware / Embedded controller update, but I just don't have the time to flash back 2-3 versions of BIOS and controller to test.
