Re: BAD_POOL_CALLER

Strangely enough, I just had this problem today (3x) under Vista. I used the NirSoft utility BluescreenView to examine the minidump and determine where the crash was coming from. In my case, the top three items on the stack were: dne2000.sys (part of the deterministic network enhancer from Citrix; i...

Just for closure, ordered the Atheros card, installed it, and have been crash/disruption free for 24 hours. Looks like it was either a driver or hardware issue.

Thanks to all those who offered assistance.

Happy Holidays!

Freeze - T60p (2007-8JU) Vista, w/ Intel Wireless 3945ABG

Morning all. I have a relatively stable (mostly) T60p running Vista/32 using an Intel 3945ABG wireless card. All is usually well, except..... Starting a few weeks ago (with no correlation to driver/install/system updates that I can see), I started to experience system freezes that occur in the same ...

www.newmode.us - where did they go?

I was looking to buy a drive caddy for my new 7k200 drive, but the website seems to be having some issues.

Is Newmode still in business? Anyone know?

23 minutes? I had a similar issue (Vista/T60p + BIOS Flash = bad). IBM came on site. 3 hours later, the technician left. And my pristine T60P now looks like a Frankenstein-like creation. Screws protruding through the bottom of the case, screws missing, battery latch busted. Not a good day for on-sit...

Thanks for the reply.

Unfortunately, the drive is a toshiba, and there are no firmware updates available for this particular drive.

Spinrite unfortunately gets hung up the same way.

If I had a clean room.....

Damaged T42 Hard Drive; question on recoverability

A co-workers 3rd party/upgraded T42 60gb drive recently died. And by died, I mean, really died. Loud, repeated clicks when Windows tried to boot; the drive was unbootable. Using Knoppix and DD (and ddrescue), I was able to copy about 1/2 the drive to another device. The problem is at the 25Mb mark o...

Ultrabay Slim Device Eject Lever - where to find?

Hi all, I know this is a strange request, but..... The eject lever from my Ultrabay (T42) has broken off. Any ultrabay devices now need to be removed using a pair of needle nose pliers to grasp what little of the lever is remaining to eject the device. Crazy glue doesn't really provide the tensile s...

Resume Problems on T42??

Hi. Recently after a number of updates (Cisco VPN 4.8, IBM PM, video drivers, etc), my T42 has started to behave a bit strangely. Resume / Hibernate all work as expected - except when the computer is awakened. The system powers up and one can interact with it for about 15 seconds. A device disconnec...

Guys, please RE-READ the original document.

The link provided is a link to UPGRADE HARD DRIVE FIRMWARES of drives that IBM/Lenovo has sourced and shipped with Thinkpad configurations.

It is *NOT* an exhaustive list of drives that will work in the Thinkpad.

.....nothing to see here, move along.

Thinker, I have to admit - from your initial description, I believed that you had been sent a PPP-owerbook or something like it. Please let us know what IBM says, if anything. If you get your TP back and it suddenly works, let us know what BIOS and EC versions are there.

Of course, if they suddenly ship you a T42 by accident, let us know as well. My T40 could go in tomorrow if it was replaced by a T42. :-)

Bump.

I ended up purchasing a Cardbus USB 2.0 adapter. That seems to work fine.

I am fairly certain that these issues are related to IBM's Firmware / Embedded controller update, but I just don't have the time to flash back 2-3 versions of BIOS and controller to test.

Hello, IBM?
