GomJabbar, YOU ARE THE MAN!!! Copy and paste the code in to notepad, save as PowerCfg.reg and double-click on it. Choose YES to merge/save the registry settings in to your registry. Everything works now. You just saved me a sh*tload of time and hassle. Thanks GomJabbar. If you're ever in Long Island...

GomJabbar, Yes, I have checked the logs, device manager, etc. Both batteries charge AND hold charges. AFAIK, everything is alright. Could anyone be kind enough to export a copy of their PowerCfg registry? It's under HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Control Panel/PowerCfg. Please export both GlobalPowerPolicy and t...

Hello everyone. Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday(s) and new year. I just had the SAME problem. I was reconditioning my battery last night, woke up this morning and boom, all my schemes were gone and the boxes are all greyed out. I REALLY don't want to reformat/reinstall b/c I just did total sys...

My lord. I thought this thread was tucked away neatly in the forum's database. I also forgot about the thread and unfortunately, never came to rewriting the how-to-bluetooth (got a nice ring to it, don't ya think?). I would like some help but I just haven't had the time to come on the forum and keep...

What is your main buying point? Performance? Luxury? Safety? Value? "Cool" factor? All-Weather capability? etc? I'd say just for praciticality sakes, the GS300 is the way to go. I've personally never owned a Lexus but most of my uncles only trust in Lexus mainly because the price, luxury, ride (LS43...

I have/had the same problem but only when the adapter is charging the battery for a long period of time. Say perhaps an hour or more. It gets hot especially when your battery is charging from a complete/near-complete discharged state and yes, it gets THAT hot. I wouldn't really worry too much about ...

RSS readers... which one???
Hello all. I was browsing around for a good RSS reader and I have no idea which is better than the other. I was particularly attracted to FeedDemon because it has a lot of features and it has gotten a lot of good awards but I don't know. I don't have a problem purchasing the program, but I do have a...

If you're looking to buy a good wireless router/AP and don't want to spend no more than $150 the Linksys ones are great. I had the WRV54G for a short bit and it worked fine (fyi, haven't tried the VPN portion so don't ask me about it). If you have the money to burn and want enterprise quality, get a...

Yes, I have upgraded my card. My 2379-R9U originally came with the Intel 2200BG card. I have installed the IBM 802.11a/b/g Mini-PCI II (Atheros 5004) card. I honestly can't tell you the difference in overall performance between the 5001 and the 5004 b/c I've never had the original a/b/g card. I will...

Check your device manager to see if Microsoft Enumerator is listed under the Bluetooth Devices listing. If it is you'll have to get rid of that. WARNING: Before you continue I strongly recommend that you unpair all your bluetooth devices from your T42. Go your bluetooth setup in WinXP and delete all...

Back then when StarTac's were the best (and IMO, they were one of the best phones) I used to use it as a dial-up modem. It was terribly slow but very reliable. The speed was a "true" 14.4kbps connection and with the included compression software that came with Mobile Phonetools, it ran at anout 28.8...

Got my Tumi Large Computer Sleeve.
Hello everyone. Well, I went out to the Tumi store and I purchased the Large Computer Sleeve (http://www.tumi.com/products/index.cfm?ModelID=42235&bb_id=c13016&sub_site_id=3&TMI_PL_3_Link=Details&categoryid=13016). It's quite nice asthetically. I wouldn't say it's as protective as a Targus or anythi...
