Want to upgrade.

I've got a t43p w/ 2.o gh processor and 1400x1050 14" display. I would like something faster; I run mostly MS Access db programs and interact on web with other database programs. I've been spoiled by the resolution and keyboard feel of the t43p and I'm having trouble finding anything better with sim...

Re: LAPTOP FREEZES!

Regarding Access Connections: I had similar problems with long boot, 100% CPU use during launch of AC. The following steps solved the problem: 1) uninstalled access connections in safe mode 2) removed references to access connections in registry, including legacy references, and IBM Access Connectio...

Re: IE8 and Password Manager

Well, installed IE8; not working properly, and Password Manager appears behind windows window and doesn't recall stored passwords.

If no one knows how to fix I'll have to roll back.

It still charges up to 100% no matter how I set it. If that's all it does and it doesn't do that, I may try without.

Do I need it? It seems to be adding about 1-2 minutes to boot time.

My IE 6 has recently stopped displaying LaTeX, so I'd like to move to IE8, but I'm worried that my IBM password manager will crap out. Can anyone advise?

thank you!

I've got a t43p, and the most recent version of power manager. It always charges to 100% no matter what the settings. Anyone know how to fix?

I've been having boot time and DOS crashes. No problems once XP launches.

Could this be related to my loose socket?

Incorrect CPU speed?

Recently got a used t43P.
Original specs say 2.26 gH CPU.

Sys Info now says 2.0 gH. Had MB replaced by Lenovo before I got it, but they say they didn't change the CPU.

Could this be a software thing?

thanks

Which to buy?

I've been happy with my t43 (3 years old, 2668-72U), but it seems like I may need to replace it.

Given that I've been happy with it, which thinkpads (or other laptop) do folks think I would like as a replacement?

Thanks

ever is a long time. I did notice for a while before the boot problem that it would sometimes miss a space. There haven't been any characters repeating without holding down a key.

So this might just be the keyboard! Fabulous.

Before I buy a new kb, can they be cleaned?

Left PC doctor on overnight testing MB:

Interface chip internal diagnostics error: Keyboard failed

How do I get a new motherboard? IBM/Lenova repair will be $500-$600, with no assurance that MB replacement will be new, and 30-60 day warranty on the repair!

OK. Now booting from CD PC Doctor shows:

"Error 32 writing to hardware events log

301-250-000-20080827-88 Keyboard : Failed (Keyboard IRQ Failed)

301-254-000-20080827-20 Keyboard: Failed"

Now what. Fixable w/o replacing MB?

Thanks

My problem is still intermittent. For the most part it seems very close or identical to Pathma's.

In addition, my computer sometimes freezes in BIOS setup program or the keyboard might stop responding in PCDoctor or memtest program booted from CD.

No problems once in WXP pro.
