Re: T430 new to Cormor99
T430 is also capable of running MacOS. I have High Sierra AND Mojave running on mine without any problems. Have a look at buying an "Ultrabay" adapter to add a second HDD and also see about possibly buying an mSata for the spare slot underneath where the ram stick is (There is another ram slot unde...

Re: LF: Swiss Keyboard for t410 t420 x220
Yes, I know the German keyboard and the difference is essential for one used to Swiss keyboard Yep, I know what you means, as I'm using exclusively the Swiss layout. I'm French but totally converted to Swiss layout since several years (better than AZERTY for coding, and still has french accent lett...

Re: Replacing My MB Air With A ThinkPad. Suggestions?
I did a S1 swap. It was horrid. Especially trying to get the keyboard relinked to the hinges. Yep, it's really easy to mess something especially with hinges when putting everything back together after keyboard swap on those Thinkpads. I've done keyboard replacement on S1 and Yoga 12 three times, bu...

Re: SK-8855 keyboard module swap?
Well, SK-8855 is just as bad or as good as the X220 keyboard...
If you don't like the default keyboard in it (maybe a Chicony or Alps), then just replace it with a X220 NMB keyboard

Re: SK-8855 keyboard module swap?
Yep 100% compatible with keyboards from T410/T510/X220/T420/T520.
I've done it on my SK-8855, I bought the SK-8855 with French AZERTY layout and then replaced by a T410 keyboard with QWERTZ Swiss layout.
Just like Brazilian layout, SK-8855 is impossible to find with QWERTZ-Swiss layout

Re: ThinkPad Compact Bluetooth Keyboard with TrackPoint Teardown *PICS*
I was hoping that it would be possible to drop in a classic keyboard (say xx20) in the Thinkpad USB compact keyboard I have, but from the looks of it, that won't be possible in this case. It is possible to drop-in T420/T520/X220/T410 classic keyboard but in another Lenovo Thinkpad USB keyboard . Th...

Re: What to do if Computrace is activated in your TP BIOS
I bought a T430 with Computrace activated. So I've read this post carefully (and many other writings about Computrace) and I've decided to call them. They first said "bla bla bla you should look forward to your computer manufacturer..." then I told that my computer is a Thinkpad and I can disable it...

Re: Installing classic keyboard into X230 with EC firmware mod
You don't need to tape the pins for the T430, only the X230 needs that (IIRC) Oh really!? T430 doesn't have backlit functionality? Frak, I did that for nothing... Hopefully this attempt was easy and quick, as I was already experienced isolating those pins for X230. If it was for the first time and ...

Re: Installing classic keyboard into X230 with EC firmware mod
I also dissasembled keyboard cable and put some kapton tape on pins. This turns out to be "the most difficult job" of whole operation. Let me explain -- flash was OK, but after assembly some keys didn't work. So I dissasembled cable and realigned pins. Second try was better, but still had problem -...
