SOLD: Mint X40 w/Dock & 3 Batts 1.4GHz/1.5GB/60GB/BG/BT
SOLD to forum member: My personal travel laptop for the last 3+ years, a near perfect X40.
*Image removed*
Where do I start?! I've owned the machine for most of it's life and I've used it sparingly. It works perfectly and it's a Dothan 1.4GHz with the largest drive available from IBM (60GB) and maxed out memory (1.5GB). It also has Bluetooth. All X40's have an SD reader slot. Prior to the three year warranty expiring, IBM replaced the LCD due to a faint white spot. The LCD is bright and mint. The keyboard and palmrest are mint, no shine at all. I've upgraded the drive from a 40GB to a 60GB and the memory from 512MB to 1.5GB. I am including all three battery styles that were available for the X40; 4 cell, 8 cell and 4 cell extended (snaps on bottom of machine). The 8 and 4 cell extended batts. are hardly used (see picture link below for screenshots of all battery stats.) The 4 cell still lasts over one hour. IBM published a runtime of 10+ hours with the 8 cell and 4 cell extended both installed, I never tried it, but I know it lasts for many, many hours. An X4 Ultrabase dock with a CDRW/DVD Ultrabay Slim drive is also included. I bought this new. The dock key and manual are included. With the 4 cell battery the machine weighs in at 2.75 lbs.
Only the cover shows slight wear. This is a great machine to use as is or upgrade with an SSD. The included 1.8" 60GB IDE sells for over $100 at this time on eBay. The full specifications are below.

Reduced to $299 plus shipping (figure 9 lbs. including great packing and all the accessories) PayPal, USPS money order or cash accepted. Other X40's may sell for less, but not in this condition with Bluetooth, 60GB HDD, three batteries and an Ultrabase!

Price reduced again. Any lower and I might have to part it out or sell it on eBay.
$299 plus shipping or $285 cash for local pickup.

For some reason these are hard to sell. Took me a while to sell mine a few months back and it was pretty identical to this one except for lack of BT. Either way, this is a good deal, somebody should jump on it. They're excellent portable systems with great keyboards.

Thanks for the nice comments.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Well, after nearly three weeks and two price reductions, it has sold to a forum member in Europe. He should love it and I will miss it. The X40 was one of my all time favorites. In fact, I'm pretty sure it runs cooler and quieter than the X60s that replaced it.
(I was considering pulling the ad and buying a KingSpec 1.8" SSD for it.)
