T42 purchasing through Lenovo Phillippines?

hi everyone. i happened to go to the phillippines lenovo website and saw a t42 with the specs that i've wanted. i was wondering if anyone from the us has ever bought a t42 or a thinkpad from a different country. is it even possible? it also says, please contact your local business partners, does that mean it's not for sale to individuals? here's the link

I doubt they will ship it, instead they will refer to the correct sales office for your country.

It's not sure,but basically the laptop sold on the official website will ship it to customers worldwide.Of course it has less risks if you have friends there.Take an example,my laptop is bought by my Uncle in the US.
