I've read some articles in this forum.I always have a problem.
TPs have a hidden partition uesd to recover the system. But it takes too long time and will make some hardware drivers and virus killing softs getting lost. So,do you guys have any better way to recover the system rapidly and keep the important drivers and softs.
Thanks for any advice!

Re: About the hidden partition?
1. Buy a second hard drive of the same size as your ThinkPad's internal hard drive and either an adapter to use it in the UltraBay of your ThinkPad, or an external USB drive case for it.SIMON L wrote:So,do you guys have any better way to recover the system rapidly and keep the important drivers and softs.
2. Buy a software product like Acronis True Image 9 and use it to clone your hard drive to the second hard drive on a regular basis.
3. Make sure you know how to boot your ThinkPad off the 2nd Hard drive (there are many message on ThinkPads.com about this, so use the search facility to find them).
4. If you need to recover your system, boot up from the 2nd hard drive and clone your ThinkPad's internal hard drive from the previously made copy on the 2nd hard drive. With a abit of practice, in most cases you should expect to be up and running again in about 30 minutes or so.
Cheers,
Bill
