Hi All
There are a couple of machines I've never seen in the wild at all. Not sure how rare they are in the UK but has anyone ever seen....
IBM Thinkpad 130 - does this machine even exist? I have it on a list as a released machine but can't find anything about it anywhere...
IBM Thinkpad 220 - Japan only with a trackball rather than a trackpoint....suspect has an awful screen!
IBM Thinkpad 345 - One of the quickly evolving 3xx series. Not particularly special but never seen one!
IBM Thinkpad 500 - there is a smashed up and broken one on ebay, which I'd be inclined to get but the shipping to the UK is too much... never seen a working one.
IBM Thinkpad 550BJ - built in printer....japan only (I think).....never seen one...
IBM Thinkpad 8xx Series - have never seen a single one of this entire range...
IBM Thinkpad S30/S31 - I don't really understand what these are as I don't see much info. They look 'subnotebook' but maybe I can't see context well in the photos. Were they made by some other company? I think they only came out in Australia and Japan maybe?
Cheers!

Vintage machines you've NEVER seen in the wild...
Re: Vintage machines you've NEVER seen in the wild...
Ok just, by chance today, realised I do have one of these. The case is *really* rough and it's getting worse (delaminating sticky rubber) and the LCD has a really weird kind of 'fractal' blemish across one half of it... but it *does* work. It doesn't feel like thinkpad. It feels like a weird japanese cousin...IBM Thinkpad 220 - Japan only with a trackball rather than a trackpoint....suspect has an awful screen!

How many thinkpads do you have? It seems weird to me that you thought you haven't seen one ever and now you realise you own it! XD
Post some picturse so we can see them!

Well since I posted this, I do now actually own a 130, 220, 555BJ and 4 x S30s. I also did manage to find a really nice 345CS. Still on the look out for anything 8xx.
I actually got hold of 2 x 220 machines and one of them one does vaguely work, but the black and white LCD panels have a terrible plague of that weird 'fractal' degratation in the liquid crystal itself. At the moment, I am just trying to clear space so I can actually easily get to all of them because once I've somewhat 'preserved' them, they go into storage.
