T43 type 2668 Charge Very Very slowly

Hi I have T43 type 2668. I recently got two generic replacement batteries. Both from different firms and looks ok. The charger says takes 48 hours to charge up. Waited 48 hrs, never charge beyond above 75%? The original battery was shot. Any idea?

I physically took it apart and didn't see any burnt area. The physical connection looks fine. Is my mobo bad? I do see a connection/adapter where the battery connects to the board....but it looks hard soldered.... :[

I'd tend to think that these are problem, and not the laptop itself.

Obtain a genuine battery - even a weak one will do - for testing purposes and report back.

actually this is also happening with my genuine (1/2 capacity left) battery?

is the adapter on the motherboard broken? is that solder to the board? :[

Hi Jsailorca

What operating system are you running? XP? W7?

If you are able to do us a favor and take a screenshot of the details of your battery as reported by Lenovo Power Manager.

Do you have the green battery icon on the lower right side of your screen? I am curious as to the health of your batteries. Start with your original battery and one of the generic batteries next.

Go into the control panel under power options and battery information, note charging rate in amps and let us know

The DC-connector is only screwed to the rear frame.
But to get at it, you will have to completely disassemble the laptop.

RBS, but it is charging and then seems to cut off, maybe he should go to the thinkpad default setup and make sure somebody hasn't modified the charging/discharging profile
