I reformatted and partitioned my recently purchased T42-2373 and purchased an original T42 IBM Recovery disc set (bootable Rescue disc + 7 Product Recovery CDs). Installation proceeded normally. After rebooting the Rescue and Recovery screen keeps coming back and I don't how to get out of it. I can access BIOS Setup Utility, but when Im press any key except Restart itjust beeps.
When I press restart Rescue and Recovery screen reappear.
How do I get out of this? I have used Recovery discs on previous Thinkpads without any problems.

Re: T42 Recovery problem
Start again, and let the rescue CD format your hard disk.

Re: T42 Recovery problem
Thank you for the advise. It worked.
Apparently the third party partitioning had interfered with the Recovry procedure.
