CPU upgrade for IBM System x3200 M1

I am thinking about upgrading the CPU in my x3200, and I was wondering if the Xeon X3230 will work in this server. On the IBM website, it says that the maximum CPU for the M1 version is the X3210, but the chipset should support the X3230 as well. The X3210 and X3230 are practically the same CPUs, but the X3230 is 500 MHz faster and consumes 10 W less than the X3210. However, I couldn't verify if it will actually work.

So, I wonder, has anyone here tried to perform this kind of upgrade?
