Thinkcentre M93p tiny compatibility with Pentium G3240T

So I'm coming here for help. Basically I got a G3240T for cheap and I want to sell the i5 4570T for some $$$, as G3240T is more than enough for the purpose of my M93p Tiny (torrenting, downloading, and use some dodgy chinese softwares).

The thing is, My M93p tiny just refuse to boot when G3240t is installed. checked the CPU on my H81 motherboard and everything seems okay.

Any ideas?

Are you sure Lenovo didn't pull some whitelist crap on that machine? Doubt it but possible. It works fine on the original CPU, right?

EDIT: Its a supported factory CPU, nevermind. On the otherhand, where did you get the CPU, it could potentially be a dud, or a chinese fake.

Yeah I know. That is weird. Only possibly reason I can think of is that Intel mistaked G3240 with G3240T (Also tried G3240 (no T) and it was not working). Have seen 8 core Ryzen 5 before.

Tried that CPU on my H81 motherboard, It's working correctly as G3240T.
Tried that CPU on my other M93p tiny, same results  Fan spins, but even the power LED is not on

If it spins for a second and turns off, it isn't even posting at all. If it continues spinning, then it is passing the preliminary stages of POSTing. Probably a silly suggestion but did you update the BIOS to the latest version before CPU swapping?

Also, did you have anything like VTx or VTd or something enabled that the i5 supports that the Pentium doesn't, and it's trying to initialize it on boot and failing?

Yes for the BIOS. I updated to the version published in Sept 2016 (Don't wanna the security patch and crap)

I will try with the VT-d/VT-x thing. that might be the only reason left. Though I have resetted the BIOS to default.

The G3240T had VTx but not VTd

Also doesn't have trusted execution so if you have a security system turned on , turn it off.

Remember the defaults may be for the i5 not the Pentium chip.

Also, if you have something like a TPM, I'm pretty sure it won't be happy seeing the CPU being replaced, which is also why you should turn it off.
