Help w/ T22 and LAN....

#1 Post by been200mph » Thu Jan 26, 2006 3:44 pm

New here, new to laptops.... need some advice please! I have a T22 and am always able to connect to my LAN with a wireless Linksys 54g card. Never a problem. When I put in a Linksys PCM200 v2 ethernet card instead and try to connect to the LAN, it is a pain in the rear as it seems to only want to connect about 1 time in 20. I have reinstalled the drivers from the floppy disc to no avail. I checked the connection setup and it does not appear I have missed anything. So..... what should I be looking for next? Thanks in advance for any tips to help.....

Under network connections, are your wireless and LAN connections Bridged? I had this problem before with both the wireless and LAN connections. I had to remove/delete the Bridge connection. I know that the bridge is meant to help choose between the fastest connection, but if one isn't connected it caused problems.

Hmm... I have NO idea. I am not extremely computer literate, lol. Where would I check that and make any necessary changes? Thanks! :D

ps, I'm using W2KP.....and have tried the card in both the laptop and the dock... but am I wrong to think the dock will not support a cardbus 32-bit card and just a PCMCIA card? It still gives me fits even if in the cardbus slot in the laptop. I read on the Linksys site the PCM200 is a cardbus type?
