The wifes T21 has decided to die. When the power button is pressed, it sounds like the hard drive is trying to whir but all that happens is the lightning bolt in the clear plate lights the monitor stays dark.
I tried removing the harddrive, the battery, and the DVDrom and booting the machine with the same results. I am thinking the system board is dead.
I am wondering if it is possible to pull the hard drive and install it in my T42. Can I simply do this and boot the t42 so that i can recover the needed files off the t21 drive?
any thoughts would be appreciated-

T21 Harddrive
Re: T21 Harddrive
You'll probably run into problems with drivers and such because the hardware is so different. Might be easier to put the harddrive in a 2.5" external usb 2.0 enclosure and get your data off that way.Mike_S wrote:I am wondering if it is possible to pull the hard drive and install it in my T42. The 2.5" external enclosures are pretty cheap. If you are near Surplus Computers in Santa Clara, they have some for $9.99:
