T22 power cord specs needed

#1 Post by nrphotos » Tue Apr 04, 2006 9:09 pm

In checking the posts here I see talk about
There are a lot of similar comments regarding difficulties encountered when trying to charge a battery with a 56w adaptor in a machine designed for a 72w adaptor.

I had my power cord plugged in for hours today never charging the batt. The transformer (?) nor the battery were warm. I got to thinking about my power cords. here's the info off the cords:
2-pin a/c adapter: FRU P/N 08K8209 ( I couldn't find this in ibm's site)
power cord: side 1- E624055P AC; side 2: 7A/125V M1250A
Can someone please compare their #'s with mine?
thanks,
~N

I found the 2 pin FRU 08K8209 - listed for TP R52 models incl xxU (mine is serial labeled MRU but BIOS says FSM) IBM description says 2 pin 72W slim adapter for non-pfc model. Whatever non-pfc is! seems to be the right adapter. Sheeooot I am still looking for a simple solution!
