Driver Questions
Driver Questions
I have a wifi card that goes into a bay on the left of the laptop. I've been unable to get it working at all. It is a IEEE/802.11b/g.
Under PC Card/PCMCIA at http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... 42358.html the drivers for Windows 98, ME, 2000, XP are listed as included with operating system.
It looks very much like the card in this picture: http://cdn3.iofferphoto.com/img/item/13 ... 1/4H2U.jpg
How can I get this card working?
And do I need the driver Intel Chipset Support for Windows 98, 2000, XP to make my processor work to its best?

Re: Driver Questions
Did you install the driver for your OS from the driver CD in the picture? What is the manufacturer and model of this card? Chipset?

Review your System Properties...
[Start][Control Panel][Performance Maintenance][System][HARDWARE][Device Manager]
Click on "Network Adapters"
I have two Linksys PC Card Wireless Network Adapters -- one -11b and another -11g. Neither one would work using Microsoft Windows drivers. I had to install the Linksys/Broadcom driver specially designed for its corresponding Network Adapter brand and model.

Re: Driver Questions
There is no telling which chipset that card uses, and no easy way to tell without the driver CD.
That said, there are 3 major manufacturers
Atheros
Intel
Broadcom
You may end up trying all of them before you get the correct one.

Re: Driver Questions
Usually, there is a label on the bottom of the card with more info like a model and/or part number. That information might help you identify the card.
