I always use a reserve, and even mention it more or less in the posting. Something like: I have placed a very reasonable reserve on this item. Please do not think you are going to snipe it for less than $100.00 at the last few moments of the auction If my reserve was $100.00 I would put reserve of $101.00 on it. Every time i have phrased it like this, the reserve is always met early and it normally sells for just over it.

While the high resolution looks nice on a spec sheet on a 14.1 TFT screen it's too small for me to read the screen. I tend to stay with the 1024x768 screens. It's easier on my 6X nearsighted eyes.

If your sight is less than perfect, I'd strongly recommend switching to 15" machines with IPS FlexView LCDs. You'll be amazed with what your eyes can actually tolerate resolution-wise when you're not staring at a crappy TN panel.

Take it from someone who's about five years overdue for Lasik, and still uses 15" UXGA (1600x1200) on all of his ThinkPads.

Don't want to thke this too far off topic, but once you get into 15" or larger screens, you have an unwieldly laptop. I travel a lot, and that size won't fit in my cases. At home i use a large CRT (IBM of course) so that's not an issue.

Thinkpad1; did you ever sell it???

There- it's back on topic!
