Obtaining Machine Type & Model info

#1 Post by cadillacmike68 » Sun Oct 16, 2011 9:34 pm

Is there a way to ferret out a T30 machine type and model (the 2366 or 2367-whatever) from either winbloze of thinkpadconfig?? I have one machine that does not have the little sticker on the bottom. Thanks in advance

It's in the BIOS.

In my notes, posted eariler by RBS...
If you open the lid at the bottom (nearest the back of the TP), you should find the motherboard's ASM P/N: and FRU PN: on the white plastic that 'folds' around the modem/wifi card.

2366 and 2367 are the same machines, but the 2367 usually has the better warranty specs.
It's the 3-letter MODEL after the 4-digit type that indicates what is inside.
