T23 B/G wireless upgrade
Have a T23 with wireless built in. Want to upgrade to B/G, not only for speed increase, but WPA capability as well. I have searched the forums, and have read a variety of posts, but I might have missed the info I am seeking. So.....
I am looking at right now a Intel 2200BG card....is this card a drop in replacement (other than drivers) or is there a better option out there?
I have noticed some users having to "hack" the bios in order to get a different card working...are there any cards that this is not needed, or is it necessary with any card?
Thanks all....

Re: T23 B/G wireless upgrade
Just to let you know what I have done with one of my T23s...
I exchanged the original Actiontec modem/wireless card with a generic Broadcom BCM94306 card (802.11b/g). I had found drivers and a utility program for this card online when I did the same thing for my 600X. NO hack was needed for the T23.
FYI: the T23 this was done on is a 2647-8NU running BIOS version 1.17 (1AET61WW) and Windows XP Pro SP2. You will lose the built-in modem, however that can be solved by using a USB or PCMCIA adapter for those times you need dial-up :shutter:

Ray, thanks for the info. Also to Steve.
I'm also going to switch out the Actiontec wifi card in my T23 for an Intel 2200bg card. It seems like it should work fine with the correct driver.

Just putting in my personal experience.
I installed an Intel 2200 B/G card into my T23 along with the antennas this past weekend (by the way, thanks, Ray for your help!). Once the Intel drivers were installed, I was up and ready to go and instantly connected to my Linksys router with Very Good - Excellent signal strength.
It was a rather painless installation, with the exception of cramming the remaining slack of my antennas into the space surrounding the wifi card. So rest assured, it should work without any hacking whatsoever.

Re: T23 B/G wireless upgrade
For anyone who has gotten an Intel 2200bg or 2915bg mPCI card working in a T23, can you post a part number/FRU# for the card please?
