IBM T30 (2366-86U) Not Booting

#1 Post by LDP » Tue Mar 02, 2010 7:00 pm

Hi,

I have IBM T30, which was working fine till last week. Recently it started giving trouble, like when i move the laptop, the system used to freeze. Only Cold boot used to get it back to operational. Now it completely stopped working. i dont see thing after the IBM LOGO (press F1 for BIOS etc...).

I removed memory & heard memory beep sound. Do you think the mother is bad?

Any suggestions would he helpful.

Thanks
LDP.

We sincerely hope not!
But your T30 may suffer from a loose graphics CPU.
If you hook it it up to an external monitor, can you see anything on that external screen?
Lovely day for a Guinness! (The Real Black Stuff)
But I actually prefer Murphy's from Cork!

The system is not even booting. No harddisk light glowing no sound. I tried to reinstall windows OS and that was also halted. The hard disk is fine (tested with another laptop).

I guess it is motherboard then. But there any way to easy repair this or i just leave it :(
