How easy, or not, is it to replace a broken power jack on an IBM T21 & does it involve soldering?
I ask because my mates T21's jack is very loose & could go at some point. Seems to be a common fault on laptops. I will trawl the hardware maintenance manual when I get the chance, but thought I'd try a preemptive question first.

Re: Replacing Power Jack On T21
The power jack is just screwed onto the motherboard. Sound like your mate's has loosened up and needs a little tightening.

Re: Replacing Power Jack On T21
One little clarification, the power jack is actually mounted on the Sub card which fits between the motherboard and the back of the base.

Re: Replacing Power Jack On T21
I remember seeing it on a separate little card when replacing mobo. That answers my question. Thanks.
