Best XP-compatible AGN Wireless card?
Does anyone have a recommendation for an XP-compatible AGN wifi card for a T61? Of course it already has the Middleton BIOS.

Does this card include bluetooth? Or are they different cards? I'm looking to upgrade bluetooth to 5.0 and the wifi to n or even ax standard.RealBlackStuff wrote: ↑Tue Jun 22, 2021 1:15 amAR9380 with Atheros chip (originally from The Fruit).

T60/T61 has a mini-PCIe wifi slot.
You can get Intel AC7260 with AC/BT4 or the (crappy) Realtek 9260AC with AC/BT5.
Or get Intel AC9260 with AC/BT5 or Intel AX210 with AX/BT5.2.
Those are M.2 cards and for a T60/T61 you need a mini-PCIE to M.2 A+E adapter and possibly antenna-connector adapters as well.

IIRC on the T61, only the WWAN slot has USB signals that are needed for the Bluetooth part of any WiFi/BT combo card.
Planned Purchase: T480s i5-8350 FHD Touch

That was an option I was shuffling in my mind. I don't want to wait the one or two months that that thing is going to take to get here, but well, maybe in the future...RealBlackStuff wrote: ↑Fri Jan 06, 2023 1:29 amOr get Intel AC9260 with AC/BT5 or Intel AX210 with AX/BT5.2.

In a couple of days is arriving the T9300 i ordered for my T61 and since I have to open the laptop I thought I could replace both things.
Ok, thanks for the info. Will see when I crack it open what to do with the wifi adapter.axur-delmeria wrote: ↑Fri Jan 06, 2023 5:22 amIIRC on the T61, only the WWAN slot has USB signals that are needed for the Bluetooth part of any WiFi/BT combo card.

You can put it on the WWAN slot, like I did on an X61 when its WiFi slot went kaput. You may need to cover pin 20 on the WiFi card's edge connector--it's the WiFi radio enable/disable pin, and on some laptops, that pin is held to ground on the WWAN slot.Gonzaleitor wrote: ↑Fri Jan 06, 2023 5:01 pmOk, thanks for the info.
