Broke my SXGA+ screen, which replacement to get in 2025?
Broke my SXGA+ screen, which replacement to get in 2025?
I recently broke the SXGA+ screen of my 14.1" 4:3 T61.
In 2025, what is the best (bang for buck) sxga+ screen replacement you can easily get? I've seen mentions of the QD14FL07, but it seems hard to acquire in Europe.
Thanks!

For 14", SXGA+ screens are all much of a muchness in terms of quality. Order whatever one you can find. Actual new old stock screens are rare as hen's teeth nowadays. Allegedly "new" screens (actually used but in excellent condition - vendors in china love to lie like this) are more common, but expect to pay more than you'd like, especially in shipping.
The most affordable option these days seems to be to find a local to you "for parts or repair" T60 with a model number that indicates it originally shipped with SXGA+, and cannibalize the lid from it (then get back some of your money by parting out and selling the rest of it).
Is there a comprehensive list of compatible 14" panels somewhere? The Thinkwiki "TFT display" page seems to only list the panels that originally shipped in new thinkpads, and not viable alternatives.

Hmm so i did find a QD14FL07 for sale, but it's 50€, might have to try to strike a deal or something.
Other sxga+ screens i've seen being sold for roughly 30€, but then again as you were saying im not sure if they'd be fully compatible with the T61 or not, there's not much documentation about them.
If anybody reading this has a comprehensive guide on models that can be fitted in a 14.1" 4:3 T61 (like actual model numbers, not just a generic "x screens with y eeid chip") please post it here!

$50 US and up (often way up) seems to be the going rate for replacement T60 LCDs, unless you're lucky. And so very often the cheaper options that pop up from time to time turn out to be XGA, or else a mystery (the seller says they don't know and it's still in the lid assembly). Mystery ones most often turn out to be XGA, funny how that works.Redaa wrote: ↑Mon Sep 01, 2025 12:18 pmHmm so i did find a QD14FL07 for sale, but it's 50€, might have to try to strike a deal or something.

That is true, it's definitely better to spend a bit more but buy something and knowing exactly what you are going to receive.Glaurung-quena wrote: ↑Thu Sep 04, 2025 3:46 pm$50 US and up (often way up) seems to be the going rate for replacement T60 LCDs, unless you're lucky. Which brings me to this question: setting aside the QD14FL07 for 50€ for a moment, i did find this display (also by quanta display) called QD141F1LH01, which has basically 0 documentation, no panelook page, and just a couple results on google. The only thing i know is that it's 14.1" and SXGA+ too.
I'm bringing this up cause i suspect this is just another name for the QD14FL07: an american seller on ebay mentioned both these model numbers in their listing for the same screen, and also here on the forums a guy referred to these 2 displays as "the same model" (viewtopic.php?p=864339#p864339).
Being that this not-well-documented screen is found easily on ebay for 30€ and less NEW, do you think i should pull the trigger and hope my theory is correct? Sounds like a sweet deal if this sxga+ screen is any good
