Is it possible to temporarily disable the fingerprint login procedure?

Hello, X41 Forum Members!

I would like to trial run some Linux distros on my X41. Live CD Distros need to be run in ram when starting the X41.

However, my X41 is set to use the login procedure of a user name and a password or using the provided fingerprint software.

Is there some way to temporarily disable the X41's login procedures so that the laptop immediately accesses an external
CD drive which holds a Linux distro to be trialed and thereby completely by-passing the Windows environment temporarily.

Suggestions and guidance from the forum members would be greatly appreciated.

I don't have an X41, nor it's BIOS simulator, but if it's the same as R52, check BIOS/Security/Fingerprint settings.

Hello at mid-day, RealBlckStuff !!

Wow! I was able to access the BIOS and turn off the fingerprint settings. So I saved the results and went of to eat breakfast. After my morning meal, I tried to access the BIOS again, but EVERY I selected gave me this message:

"All items on this menu cannot be modified in user mode. If any items require changes, please consult your system Supervisor."

Apparently, I am considered but a simple user. Is there some way that I can gain system Supervisor status?

If I let the X41 run by itself without the fingerprint system, it loads WIN XP SP3 for me. That's hardly useful as I am trying to by-pass the whole Windows environment.

Are you aware of any "back doors" that will allow me to make changes to the BIOS?

Your guidance is further required to achieve the goal of re-ordering the boot order.

Check BIOS/Security/Password settings.
You either have a Power-On-Password (POP) or Supervisor Password (SVP).
If only POP, switch off, remove the CMOS battery for a few minutes, reconnect, reboot, POP is gone.
