x60 going to standby when too hot

#1 Post by thibouille27 » Sat May 03, 2008 3:54 pm

My x60 when running hot is going straight to standby.
Noy possible to have it back (it goes back to stand by immediately again) if I do not wait for it too be cooler.

This is really annoying of course. What would you recommend? Should I put a drop of thermal paste on the CPU or go for a warranty repair ?

If it is under warranty, I would definitely send it in. Make sure that you tell them that it is overheating (if you are sure that the heat is the cause of the problem).

Thanks fuscob.

Yes I'm sure it is the cause, playing WoW will trigger the same issue as well as anything CPU heavy which longs a certain time.

There's less problem without Ultrabase and without AC adapter (huh) but we all now X60 heats up more with those.
