Modified BIOS for X60s Wi-Fi card whitelist.

#1 Post by guythingit12396 » Sun Aug 11, 2024 6:44 pm

Browsed the forum and found this post: viewtopic.php?t=102976
Unfortunately there are no replies to it, so I'm here to ask the same question under similar circumstances as the guy who asked the question. Is there any modified BIOS for the X60s with Wi-Fi card whitelisting? If there aren't, then what other choices do I have?

If you have RPi at home you can buy a 20$ SOIC-8 test-clip and flash Libreboot firmware. There is also a way too flash memory chip internally(this is what I did with t60 and x60s) but I have seen at least two people bricking their motherboards with latest images. So if you are going to flash it take the Libreboot 20160907 release image and then update it after second flash. Note that for some reason older firmware does not recognize modern ssd, so you have to either boot from usb-drive to do second flash or use an older hdd.
There was a video made by Luke Smith somewhere...

t60, t480
Install libreboot now!
