Drivers to use newer wwan cards on W7?

#1 Post by Hifumin » Sun Sep 15, 2024 5:28 pm

Hello.

I found a Sierra MC7700 for $5 at my local flea market and I want to use it on my x61 but I don't know which drivers I'm supposed to install.
I'm using Windows 7 and the card is being recognized; it shows up in the "devices and printers" menu as MC7700, but with an error saying that the drivers are not installed.
I installed this driver but nothing really changed, it still says the driver is not installed. I also tried installing this suggested on an older thread about this topic, but it just says "An error occurred while initializing your WAN hardware" and nothing else happens.

Which driver/software am I supposed to use in order to use it?

Also on an unrelated note, the little bluetooth LED doesn't turn on even though the bluetooth works correctly, is there a way to fix this? It does turn on for a moment when I power on the machine so the LED works, I assume it's a software issue.
