Just got mine

#1 Post by ajwells » Sat Mar 04, 2006 1:50 pm

Just got my X60 and am quite pleased with most of it... design and build is excellent, super quiet and relatively cool running... I did get the VZ cell card in the machine which works fine, but I am having trouble with the VZ software freezing upon startup after the machine wakes up from standby... I spent an hour with VZ yesterday and reinstalled the software and all drivers and its still happening... anyone else have this problem?

Can other recent recipients of X60s with the 100GB drive tell me how much space their drive shows as having? I know there is a large recovery partition but my 100GB disc shows as having 88.5 GB total and 80.6 GB available out of the box

Remember that "100GB" really means 100,000,000,000 bytes, which is only 93.1GB if 1,024 bytes = 1KB, 1,024KB = 1MB and 1,024MB = 1GB. So you have a hidden partition that's about 5GB, which sounds right.

Points.
When I used the VZ Access software I had issues.
I had a VZ Cardbus card in my old laptop, and the software ran fine.

Once I started using the IBM Connection Manager, things worked great.
