T60 - Atheros Card? Best Distro?

I am looking for information on the best Atheros card to install in a T60 for OSX (has an Intel card today). I was thinking that the IBM FRU# 39T5578 / Anatel AR5BXB6 would more or less work out of the box. Anything better? Also, any better distro choice for a T60 with the ATI X1400 than the Kalyway 10.5.2?

A went for FRU 42T0825 and it has been wonderful for me, worked in OSX our of the box. But you need to buy original Thinkpad part, not the card based on the same hardware. A mate of mine got the same card for his Toshiba, and although it's the same Atheros chip it doesn't work in OSX due to some newer revision of the card.

Thanks for the information and the link, but I'd rather not pay the premium for an 'N' card since I will be using it as a 'G' card. Any other ideas for an Atheros bg card for a T60 would be appreciated.

It should work OOB as well, if look dig deeper on this forum, it was the card recommended initially for Intel replacement.

Harry - are you of the opinion that the ar5bxb6 is superior to the intel 3965 ?

I am. There have been frequent complaints about the 3965 disconnecting and not having as good range as the Atheros card. Times have changed from a year ago ... I am currently looking for the 42T0825 'N' card for my T60P.
