Thinkbook 14s IWL fan activity & tpfanctrl

For obscure reasons, I'm using one of these "hey look at me I'm just like a macbook" lenovo model.

I'm quite surprised by the fan (actually, fans) spinning pretty much all of the time and with some gusto. I've opened the surprisingly-well-made casing and it was clean.

Is your experiene similar?

Also tpfanctrl doesn't seem to detect its sensors. Do you know of a similarly-simple way of checking the temps and/or setting fan speed?

When was the last time you replaced the thermal paste?
Get something useful like Noctua NT-H2.

Great, thanks, I'll be able to understand what'g going on better.

It's quite recent and lightly used so I don't think the thermal paste would be abused. But I'll see what the temps say.

Also I changed my post title. I got the name wrong, it's a 14s, not a i14...
