What is the maximum amount of RAM I can fit into a 17" Ideapad L340 (Type 81LL)? Are there one or two slots?
It came with 8 GB.
Thanks.

The data sheet for the IdeaPad L340-17IRH says that these machines have one RAM slot (DDR4-SODIMM) and that some machines have additional RAM soldered to the system board. The data sheet also says that there are two types of machines: the first type can take up to 8 GB of RAM (4 GB soldered and 4 GB in the memory slot). The second type can take up to 16 GB RAM. The data sheet also says that "The max memory is based on the test results with current Lenovo® memory offerings. The system may support more memory as the technology develops".

Thanks!
If someone has personal experience with regard to whether 32GB works on L340-17IRH, please let me know.
CPU-z and Memtest86+ programs show that there is one slot populated with 8GB DIMM on this machine.

I wonder, what is the best and fastest DIMM I can fit in here?
So far, on the local market I have found:
Which, despite GeIL's reputation for making fast memory modules, I suspect, will work at exactly the same latencies at the laptop's supported DDR4-2666 speed. Although the specification says it should actually be DDR4-2400, that's what it actually works at, according to Memtest86+.

I'm not sure that memory can be expanded on these machines. The Hardware Maintenance Manual doesn't offer any instructions on adding or removing memory.
