Installing Windows 7 for fastest boot and general use

#1 Post by positive » Sat Sep 06, 2014 11:36 am

I just purchased an X220, and have the recovery media. The COA is for Win 7 Pro 64.

I am going reinstall Win 7, and want the laptop to be as fast as possible, without unnecessary bloatware, etc.

If I use the recovery DVD's, will that slow down the system? Or, is that the most stable way to install?

Recommendations?

Thank you

I prefer a clean install from a retail disk, especially if you're installing the OS on a SSD.

The only Lenovo utility that I personally find invaluable is Power Manager...everything else I can live without.

Obviously, YMMV.

If you have a product key there are many places you can down load it from. That's what I did and installed via usb - very quick.
