Stylus for X220T

#1 Post by ThinkCat » Thu Dec 18, 2025 4:38 pm

I went and kind of randomly got one from E-bay which did not give an FRU. It works but... Anyway I went and got another one, 04W1477, which has a red rear end, presumably for rubbing out which is detected but does nothing under Linux Mint. Both of them appear to be passive although the second one suggested it had a 3V supply in the description.

Can someone point me in the right direction in terms of what is available. Are they all passive and much of a muchness or is there a super brill active version?

Thanks

AFAIK they are all passive. There is no charging bay inside of X series tablets and all the pens I've come across were passive.
You can use any pen with Wacom EMR technology.

The red end is for erasing. I've gotten it to work with windows 10 using some wacom drivers. Presumably it would work in linux as well with some configuring.
