Greetings,
I have a T420, I modified the Bios, with this "T420_bios_1.52_NWL_ADV_0xE2_AES-NI_RAM_VBIOS_SIGN" thus removing the white list. In fact I have installed an unsupported wifi card and it works great !.

Now the only thing that makes me prope towards the T440p is the fact that I can't get any 4G LTE card to work !, I don't want to use the phone or external cards. I've tried 3 but none of them work. Beeps and the system does not boot.

Yet there is no white list in the bios installed! Why?

It's a mystery, I haven't found anyone that runs 4G LTE in the T420

I was just asking someone about this recently. What I gathered from that conversation is that the 4G card you use has to be using the USB signal lines on PCIe slot. I haven't had the opportunity to start digging into which cards fit into this category. Hope that helps some!
