I love my L520 (from 2011), but after EOL of Win7, I had no choice but to upgrade to Win10. NOw I run into all sorts of dead-ends with drivers, most annyoingly for the trackpoint/touchpad.
Currently I ahve the Synaptics driver 19.3.4.219 installed, but this only enables the basic functionality of the touchpad: Only single-finger action, no scrolling. I always used the trackpoint however, so what hit me hardest is that the trackpoint is disabled altogether in the driver (the "UltraNav" tab).
Has anyone found a solution for getting more out of the trackpoint/touchpad under Win10?

Re: Win10 on L520: trackpoint dead
Hm. Thats weird. The old drivers should work just fine with WIN10.
Try these: https://download.lenovo.com/pccbbs/mobiles/6hgx82ww.exe

i have no idea what i'm doing.
Re: Win10 on L520: trackpoint dead
Thanks RandomThinker for triggering me, so that I gave it another try (I had already given up)!
I downloaded the driver you pointed me to - and found that I had tried a slightly older version before (6hgx81ww = 16.2.19.14) with seemingly no avail.
Looking at my currrent driver I found a Synaptics version 19.3.4.219 already installed.
Oddly enough, after installing the 6hgx82ww.exe nothing changed, even after a restart: Device Manager still displayed the same version installed (19.3.4.219).
Then I de-installed this version, rebooted, and found the very same version installed, but - Hooray! - the trackpoint worked again!
So it seems I don't get the 6hgx82ww.exe (= 16.2.19.24) installed as long as this *.219 is on my system (and I am reluctant to completely delete it).
After some back and forth and various reboots I managed to get 16.2.19.24 installed and finally also the desired "UltraNav Utility" (7vgq14ww.exe = UltraNav Utility for Windows 7 v2.13) which I needed to disable the touchpad. (an active touchpad is a nuisance when working with the trackpoint).
I don't get the utility to survive a reboot in the systray and Fn+F8 doesn't pop it up, but since I am still abe to launch it from "C:\Program Files\ThinkPad\UltraNav Utility\UNAVOSD.exe" I can live with these restrictions.
Summary: it depends on the order of installing things to get it working.
So much just for the record, in case someone else has a similar problem.
Thanks again, RandomThinker, for motivating me getting this challenge finally resolved!
