Hi all,
We just purchased Lenovo L510's for our students. Ghosted it fine with Ghost 11.5.1, turned sata to compatability in bios, windows XP does not boot - black screen. I'm using my desktop ghost image (win xp sp3) which has worked on other notebooks in the past. I tried to boot win xp sp3 cd and run a repair, it gets so far and then displays this BSOD:
0x0000000FC (0XBA4F7B7C,0x0ABF5963,0xBA4F7AE4,0x0000001)
An attempt was made to execute non-executable memory
Win XP reboots and tries again, same issue repeats.
I have also tried removing the hard disk controller and changing ide controller to dual ide controller and then making a new ghost image to ghost the L510, same issue occurs. I have also tried imaging another L510 and it does the same.
UPDATE:
- Tried 1.31 bios update, no success.
- Tried XP SP3 install, BSOD same error occurs 0x000000FC
Any ideas??
Thanks
Jon

Giday jon;
not sure what proc. you got > and am assuming you have one of those AMD thingie..... and also assuming you did CREATE a 'ghost' from intel proc....
XP Pro sp3 = has KNOWN ISSUES within AMD
I have seen long time ago this issue .....since there is a MISSMATCH (intel - amd) and do recall MICROSOFT has a "unlimited support' for SP3 ISSUES in Australia. So give them a call.
Hope this helps
Cheers

Re: SL510 issues win xp
Orig image and L510 are both Intels luckily. I heard about the amd intel issue.
Yeah, I might need to call MS. Just strange because I would have thought other people would have seen this issue with Win XP install, or perhaps they use factory image instead. Works ok on Vista install, only XP SP2 or SP3.
Thanks.

Re: SL510 issues win xp
Got XP working. I had to inject the sata driver into XP SP3.
