A modded and rare IBM G50

This is something I actually promised to upload some couple of years ago. Screams to @Screamer for helping source this particular unit. He called me like 6 years ago that there is such system to get from Asia, and shipped it to me. I'd never been able to source it all by myself.

It sported some T2300 -> upgraded to T2700 CPU.
2x 1Gb matched DDR-2 RAM
Installed 160Gb SSD from intel.
Since it came out with SXGA+ I took a shot and checked it vs. Flexview screens.
All in all a SXGA+ Flexview has been installed in this one (pulled from T60p), and since I had exactly one last Daylight kit from Xiphmont it has been used up for this particular machine with the help from a fellow thinkpadder.
And I have restored the plastics the best way I could.

I'd just like to add that G-series batteries turn non-interchangeable, so as long as this one works, it works. When it goes away, there's no other

Too bad there is no discrete GPU option on these, but then again we'd probably have had to give up the floppy drive to support it, like on G4x.

Very nice indeed. It kind of reminds me of my R60e that had the palm rest sans the touch pad.

You can see it on HWinfo picture It was a drop-in replacement if you have SXGA+ version of the screen in your G50. Never checked it vs. UXGa unfortunately, dumb me

Yeah I also have a modded R61 with no palmrest (and R400 motherboard... and UXGA LED...) and R61p with no palmrest (and T61p 16:10 mobo... and FSB modded... and UXGA LED... and couple of other stuff I don't remember anymore xD). I really do not use the touchpad anywhere now. It's either trackpoint or a mouse.
