FYI: refitting physical expresscard to R60e does not grant functional expresscard

#1 Post by TPFanatic » Tue Dec 17, 2024 4:09 pm

I refit the physical expresscard+PC card cage to my R60e, however this did not yield a functional expresscard slot.

The only functional MPCIE interface on R60e is the WLAN slot.

I would like a second drive on the R60e so I am obtaining an MPCIE to dual USB 2.0 converter, which I will then attempt to connect to at least one mSATA adapter and/or USB 802.11, as I am running legacy OS (Windows Vista, Windows XP) on legacy specs (Core 2, 1GB DDR2, my ordered DDR2 is jammed up in Canada's union strike and my collection of DDR2 is locked in the house of a madman) that doesn't know what to do with my usual regimen of MPCIE-NVME adapters. Purchasing a Windows 7 key is too gray for my liking and Windows 10 is 10.

Throughput be darn, I just want the endurance and random access of an SSD, and I'm going for a regular R60 next time, or ideally a T60.
