z60m freezes while watching media
i have an z60m Pm 2.0, 2GB of ram, 100GB 7200rpm, with a X600 video card
when ever i watch any media at all whether it be watching online like youtube.com of watching a dvd or even off my hard drive the computer will freeze. it only dose it when watching anything. even when i plug it into my DVR system it freezes up.
i play half life 2 and wow and a bunch of other games on it and it works great.
i thought it might be the ram so i ran a diagnostics i got off of ibm's website witch took about 4 hours to ran and it came up cleen.
anyways if any one has an answer for me i would really appreciate it
thanks again.

since games are running fine. i would rule out any memory or graphic hardware problem.
however, there might be a driver problem with your media player.
try switching to a different player.
also let us know what player you're using currently.

Not sure if this will help. Try running DirectX diagnostics. Go to Start > Run and type dxdiag in the Open box and click OK. Go through all the tests.
Another thing to try is to turn hardware acceleration down or off on your graphics adapter. On ATI adapters, this can be changed by going to Display Properties > Settings > Advanced > Troubleshoot tab.

i think i fixed it
you see i had upgraded my hard drive to a 7200rpm drive and had to reinstall windows xp pro on it. i did this right after buying it.. well i never installed all the think vantage software on there.. and about the time i first posted here i got bored and installed all of them. i never thought things like the thumb reader or anything like that would have any effect on the video freezing the computer but since that time i have not had a problem since.
anyways i would like to thank you guys for all the help on this..
