I have a T61.
So, when the October official release of "7" arrives, will our Lenovo computers be all set to accept 7 without issues?
Excuse the newbie question... I have frankly never upgraded operating systems. Meaning, I have never gone, for instance, from Windows98 to XP or from XP to Vista.
I don't know how this upgrade stuff works.
As it is, I have XPpro. I'm happy to wait for 7, but I do enjoy Vista more than I thought I would on my desktop... so 7 should be great.
Thanks
BF

Some optional ThinkPad specific features will have to be downloaded from the Lenovo site for your machine, but generally speaking, yes, Windows 7 will deliver a proper operating installation right away without those things.Bfskinnerpunk wrote:I have a T61.

Yes.
Im running the RTM build, and it just works. Even the fingerprint reader driver installed automatically, and the built in biometrics made Lenovo's software unnecessary. The only Lenovo software I have installed has been the Power Manager, Active Protection System, and Ultranav driver and utility (mainly so I can install the 2-finger scrolling app).
