In an installation of W7 (Enterprise 32-bit) there is no option available to pin a program to the taskbar.
Even after using the program Ultimate Windows Tweaker the option is still not there.
Any suggestions?
Registry tweaks?
SOLUTION:
following instructions found elsewhere on the web, I had erroneously disabled a key in the registry.
Similar instructions even told to delete this key.
What you need to do:
Run regedit.exe and go to: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\lnkfile (that is a small letter l, not a capital I)
In there should be a key: IsShortcut with no value in the column next to it.
If this key is missing: rightclick on the right pane, and select New -> String Value (REG_SZ) to create a new registry value.
Name the new registry value as IsShortcut
No value data required.
Exit the regedit program.
Restart the computer.
