New batteries for old machines

#1 Post by stevec77 » Fri Apr 29, 2022 3:46 am

Hi all,

I've seen on eBay some new compatible batteries for sale. I have an R32 and X31 and I'd like to now-and-then take one out and about for some retro show-offs.

I'm not sure of how much I'd trust these, though. The one I've seen for the X31 is a "green cell" brand, being sold via Poland. Has anyone had good luck with a replacement or indeed that brand?

One I'd seen: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/313889554016

Much advice appreciated.

Bought a 25yr old new in the box Firebird brand Li-Ion battery for a TP760 and it appeared dead when on the charger. A day later it started charging and it now holds 2.5hrs if you can believe that.

Good to hear that, 2.5hrs not too bad I guess? I'll consider it if I can get a decent price for one of them!
