Alienware replaced XPS?

#1 Post by ThinkPad560X » Sun Sep 29, 2024 9:26 pm

I know Dell acquired Alienware some years ago, but it seem since then it replaced Dell's gaming XPS line. (Extreme Performance System) The XPS is still around but it seems to be more of a multimedia performance machine than gaming now. I have a Dell Dimension XPS Gen 4, XPS 630i and a XPS 720 "All gaming focus desktops" For other XPS it is 410, 420, 8300, 8910 and an oldie Dimension XPS T600R. For Dell's gaming side now it seems they moved from the XPS to Inspiron for gaming machines "worded Inspiron Gaming"and for laptops G series. It is kinda hard to follow Dells lineup of machines since they have so many. I know Dimension is retired.

In the Lenovo world, I understand some of the ThinkBook and Legion models shared cases. And they're usually a bit cheaper than workstation ThinkPads of the same chipset generation sold at the same time.
