Data only plan suggestions

I've just ordered my Hotspot from best buy of all places (didn't check to order from there in first place) now I'm need of a plan to work with my hotspot... it will have to be on AT&T towers since I'm not ready yet to invest in better equipment to get more than 3G T-Mobile here what do you guys suggest?

If you're stuck with using the AT&T network, then I'd suggest going to their web site or local store to find out what types of plans that they offer. I can tell you about my recent experiences since I use them for cell service and have had four different dedicated hotspots (none AT&T) in the past. I will say that buying a hotspot before figuring out what service provider to use is kind of backward in my thinking (if there are indeed other providers covering your area).

With AT&T I currently have five lines of service with their Unlimited Plus plan. That provides unlimited talk, roaming in Mexico and Canada, unlimited text and 22GB of full-speed (typically >20Mbps) data access per line each month. Along with that, there's also a provision of 10GB of hotspot data per line. Note that in this case we're using our phones as the hotspot so be sure that your phone(s) support this option. All of this for $215/mo. If you only want/have a single line, then I believe that the cost is $90. Here's a recent post on the subject:

Prior to going to the Unlimited Plus plan I had Sprint, Virgin, T-Mobile and Verizon hotspots. The T-Mobile and Verizon were the ones I dropped when upgrading my AT&T plan. T-Mobile monthly plan was 6GB/$35 and Verizon was 8GB/$70. The best coverage and usability for me was with Verizon. I had decent coverage and speeds where I needed it (at work) but it was fairly expensive as I tended to go over my monthly allotment.

I'd love to have T-Mobile If they work in my area as their plans are the best but I only get 3G with T-Mobile here... Att is second best for plans (att tiered data now sucks butt) and the unlimited plans are just as good as Verizon in terms of pricing... Verizon is best in my area for signal but hotspots and Tethering suck butt with them and sprint just roams here... If I had to build a good hotspot plan and signal wasn't an issue my first choice would be using a Samsung S8 or Note 8 as my dedicated hotspot on T-Mobile's one plus international plan and my second choice would be a Netgear nighthawk M1 on AT&T's unlimited plus plan... Option 2 is doable for me and I may do it but I'm gonna get AT&T 5GB tiered plan $45 I believe with autopay and try out my M1 if my speeds are good enough I'll spring in for unlimited plus plan... Anything faster than my current DSL will be enough for me to switch to it permanently... Heck I don't even use more than 2gb a day watching YouTube so I'll probably be good

As far as I know, at that rate, you'll exceed your "Unlimited" Plus plan which provides full-speed access in 5 days. Not 11? No. Tethering and mobile hotspots on the AT&T plans allot only 10GB/mo. After that, you may be limited to 128Kbps. Contact your local AT&T agent/store to verify.
