cdrom access on my 380z

#1 Post by Computer_Assist » Fri Jun 18, 2004 10:19 am

I am taking the laptop to get the cdrom replaced through the warranty on it in a couple of hours. However, I was wondering if someone else may have run into this problem.

Sometimes, in windows 98se, the cdrom is accessed without any problems on the first try. Then, it spins down and when it is accessed again, the machine locks up and I have to hard boot it. This has happened with burned as well as regular cds and I have tried a few. I have also reinstalled windows from onto a reformatted harddrive but it did not make any difference.

I am getting the cdrom drive replaced but I figured I would ask anyways, just in case.

Joe
