Well, I DO apologize for not knowing about all this before I had a chance to learn about it from all the helpful people in this and other forums.RealBlackStuff wrote: ↑Sun Sep 08, 2024 2:12 amYou could have saved yourself (and us) a whole lot of hassle...
I take it from your quotation marks that you don't approve of the way I search. I will just have to live with that. I do my best with the skills I have. If you have a better way of searching, I would love to hear about it.RealBlackStuff wrote: ↑Sun Sep 08, 2024 2:12 amNone of your "searches" has even come up with the LCD manufacturer's name!
I 'm aware of that. Despite all my attempts.RealBlackStuff wrote: ↑Sun Sep 08, 2024 2:12 amNone of your "searches" has even come up with the LCD manufacturer's name!
No. But not because of lack of interest, but because I have no idea that there is something called the HMM. When I Google now, I get "Heterogeneous Memory Management". Somehow, I get the feeling that you mean something else.
So, now I know. Why didn't you tell me in the first place? Or at least tell me how to find it myself?RealBlackStuff wrote: ↑Sun Sep 08, 2024 2:12 amIn there are 2 LCDs listed: (Samsung) 05K9546 and (LG) 05K9547.
A simple search on Google will find:
05K9546 = Samsung LT133X8-122, which has 262k colours (6-bit RGB = depth 18)
05K9547 = LG LP133X5-A2IB, which has 262k colours (6-bit RGB = depth 18)
Which means, neither of those screens has enough colours (16.7M) to have (8-bit RGB = depth 24).
So unless your 600X has a different LCD, the answer to your question is: NO.
My Linux skills are fairly limited. A lot of the discussions i get pulled into are way beyond my skills. I have to spend a lot of time with Google. Maybe this forum is for those who already know. Maybe I'm in the wrong place.
Or, maybe you are...
