TPad 600 and Hotkeys

A friend of mine has a 600 and we can't seem to get all of the Hotkeys to work actually the only one that works is the Standby key.
And I cannot find any kind of update on IBM for this. What's the deal?

Do you have On Screen Display installed?

Yes the onscreen display is installed and they still don't work.
Very strange.
